About Thorndale Safari

Thorndale Safari has been hosting exceptional hunting experiences for the international market for over two decades. Established in 2001 by owner Jens Heimberg, it now encompasses over 5000 hectares (13 000 acres) and access to an additional 100 000 hectares of pristine hunting terrain. Located in a malaria-free zone of Southern Africa, Thorndale Safari is in the heart of the Eastern Cape, 100 km north of Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).

The Thorndale Safari game lodge has earned a prestigious five-star rating from the South African Tourism Grading Council. Nestled on a hilltop with a breathtaking view of tranquil bushveld, our game lodge offers the perfect setting to take in an African sunset.

As a Professional Hunter with over a decade of experience, Matthew has been serving clients at Thorndale since 2012. He has a passion for the sea, enjoying both deep sea and rock and surf fishing, and is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the outdoors.
